Exploring my fantasy

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2008 by Lynn : nature lover Lynn
I love to paint but have never had any formal training.  I read books and just trial and error.  I have a wonderful vision in my head and I want to put it onto the canvas.  I see a beautiful rainbow colored sky with beautiful fluffy white clouds that are tinged with a hint of mystical purple.  I see lovely weeping willow, blue flowered trees surrounding a lone unicorn off in the distance.  Up close there is a patch of daisies growing next to an old tree stump covered in ivy/moss.  Of course,I will have to practice eac element of my painting to get it just right.  I think this place represents my inner tranquility and I believe this will be one of my few favorite places to explore when meditating.  I just can not seem to get this visin out of my head.  I know it means something and I know in my heart that it could be my souls yearning for peace.  I will listen to my soul and start letting my worry and anxiety just fade away.

How do you respond to negative people?

Posted on Aug 4th, 2008 by Lynn : nature lover Lynn
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 04, 2008:

I would like to say that I try to kill them with kindness, but that doesn't always work.  I feel that if I respond negatively to them back, the cycle will never end.  I offer kindness then turn the other cheek as the bible says and pray for those who hate and scorn you.

Recieving and giving gifts from the heart

Posted on Aug 7th, 2008 by Lynn : nature lover Lynn
I believe that when you give a gift, you must do it freely without any strings attached and without any predetermined notions of receiving something in return.  I am not one to ever deprive anyone from giving a gift as we receive blessings in Heaven when we do so for the right reasons.  Well, I had received a Love gift today from a dear old friend that is 93 years old, without children and such.  She has taken a liking to me since I first moved away from home at age 19 to live in Indiana as my husband's wife.  She has loved me and taken me under her wing knowing my family was miles away and I was all alone out here.  As we sat talking for hours that seemed to go by just too fast, she offered to pay for some expenses that myself and my husband had been fretting over.  How did she know we needed help?  I felt bad taking the money, but she said to me that my sitting with her was worth more than money could ever buy and if she could take some of my burden away, she would try.  We looked into eachother's eyes trying to fight back tears that eventually fell.  She is a wonderful woman and God has placed her and me on the same path for a reason.....Friendship, Love, and most of all....Someone to give wonderful gifts to for the purpose of lightening burdens or to sit and share pleasant conversation with someone who desperately needs it.  I love seeing her eyes light up when I come to visit and I always feel bad when our time is cut short.  Bless all those unselfish, caring hearts and souls out there.  I feel that our talks mean so much more to me because she and I have bonded in a way that words could not express.  I love her like a grandmother and I love giving her gifts for mother's day and granparent's day....She always jokes and says she is going to adopt me.  We are family with or without DNA or Fancy Government Documents.  We are all family here on this earth and we are all apart of something great.  My soul is sending out light and love tonight....Will you recieve my gift?

The joy of friendship can calm the storm within the soul and leave a rainbow to show the promise of healing and hope.

*I have a special photo to share for this blog but I must download it from my camara first, as the picture was taken this evening and it took my breath away and just seems to fit how I felt today.

I find them interesting and they are a great exercise to keep the mind strong.  I like to be creative whenever possible and express my opinions.  I also like to read other people's responses as to maybe gain some new insight.

Who has been your greatest teacher?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 11, 2008:

I have had many great teachers such as God, my parents, grandparents, etc. But most of all I would have to say my children.  They have taught me how to love, unconditionally and without them I never would have learned such love.  Patience as well, LOL.
